Quicke’s Cheese Tour

A Huge “Thank you” to our friends at Quicke’s Cheese for a fantastic tour of their dairy and cheese making facility.  Led by Stuart Dowle, the fabulously named Cheese Ambassador, our group of Festival Friends and food enthusiasts were walked and talked through the fascinating processes of producing hand-made cheese; from the breeding of robust high-yielding cows to the long and careful ageing of their award winning distinctive cheeses.  Good things come to those who wait after all!!

No tour is complete without the obligatory “taste test” and we were treated to three of Quicke’s finest.  The oak-smoked cheddar a particular favourite of the group, smoked on the premises in the traditional way of course.

Once again our gratitude to Quicke’s and Stuart for looking after us so well and sharing their passion for everything cheese!

If you missed this event don’t despair, we organise a variety of monthly foodie outings for all to enjoy.  Details of these will appear here and also on our Facebook page.  If you want to hear about these events before everyone else and also enjoy a reduced price, why not consider becoming a Friend of the Festival?  Details on this are here on the website!
