Food, generous Food! Festival helps Children’s Centre with donation
Ottery Children’s Centre were delighted to receive a £250 donation from the OTtery St Mary Food & Families Festival this week.
The festival, which held its 4th annual event back in June is a non-profit organisation.
Any surplus from the popular event (which was visited by around 5,000 people visited this year) is donated to a local organisation, and
this year the committee were delighted to be able to support Action for Children, who run the local Children’s centre.
The Tip Hill centre supports all families in the town, with clinics, stay and play sessions for under 5s in Ottery Station, bumps & babes
for the littlest ones, and peer support sessions.
Mandy Hill, operational lead for the Children’s centre, said: “We are delighted to receive a donation from the Food & Families festival, which
is much appreciated. We look forward to running some great food related activites for children and healthy eating sessions – keep an eye
on our website at http://www.surestarteastdevon.org.uk/ for more details.”
Ruud Jansen Venneboer, chair of the Food & Families Committee, said: “How great that the festival has made a bit of a surplus such that we can support
a great local service. We hope all families enjoy the activities planned.”
